Arriva Trains Wales have introduced an alcohol ban on its trains between Pontypridd and the upper reaches of the Rhondda valley. I was travelling home from Cardiff to Pontypridd last Friday on the Rhondda service, and noticed that indeed alcohol was being consumed.Not a be-baseball-capped youth with tats, mind you. A middle-aged well-to-do lady was quaffing from a can of M&S gin and tonic, starting her weekend early.
