The trip underground at Big Pit is an excellent experience. Our tour guide Peter was an ex-miner, and had an endless supply of anecdotes. He was the kind of guy you’d like to share a pint with.We all turned out lamps off and the picture shows how dark it was. It’s the darkest dark you will ever see. Or not see, as it were.
The above ground exhibitions are a great addition since my last trip 15 years or so ago.
